My Natural History paintings include insects, sea life, birds and other natural objects. Until you are forced to look closely at the intricate details of a subject you can't really know it as a subject: the fine hairs on a crab claw, the intricate veining on a dragonfly's wings or the iridescent colour inside a shell.
